The season of Lent opens with a smudge of ash on the forehead. We wear the ash cross at the beginning of the season as both a personal reminder and a public witness of God's power to forgive. "Remember, you are dust and to dust you shall return," is intended as good news for repentant sinners.

Ashes to Go, 3 - 4 p.m. at St. James the Less Episcopal Church, Northfield

Ash Wednesday worship with Confession, Communion and imposition of Ashes, 7 p.m. at Ascension (St. James the Less and Northfield Community will worship with us that evening)

Whether you have only a minute to receive the ashes through your car window (Ashes to Go), or an hour to spend in the company of other forgiven sinners, let this be the Lent that brings you home to God.
