We're celebrating 50 years of ministry in 2009!

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension, Northfield, Illinois was founded in 1959 as a mission congregation of the Augustana Lutheran Church.  As we celebrate our first 50 years of ministry in the Northfield community, we remember the past with great gratitude.  We have known the gift of faith and the blessings of thousands of faithful people.

Even as we celebrate our heritage, we prepare to serve joyfully in future days.  The congregation's 50th Anniversary Jubilee Celebration will fill an entire year, from Ascension Day 2009 to 2010.  Future, current and former members and friends of Ascension Church will have the opportunity to connect and reconnect, to take a step together on our collective faith journey.  We trust there is something here for everyone.  See you in church!
